JSO Th Bhogen succumbs to Covid-19

Imphal, May 11 2021:
Junior scientific Officer and joint director of Environment and Climate Change Thingujam Bhogen succumbed to Covid-19 on Tuesday at Shija Hospitals.
He was 56 and is survived by his wife and two sons.
Born in Singjamei Yumnam Leikai, Bhogen tested positive for Covid-19 on April 24 and was admitted to Shija Hospitals Covid ICU where he breathed his last around 2am .
Th Bhogen was not only a bureaucrat but also an environment activist closely associated with Manipur Mountaineering and Trekking Association (MMTA), All Manipur Working Journalists' Union (AMWJU) and Editors' Guild, Manipur (EGM).
He was also a former artiste, member secretary and treasurer of Panthoibi Natya Mandir.
Meanwhile, EGM expressed deep condolences over the untimely demise of Th Bhogen and recalled that he was an ardent supporter of environmental conservation and had always extended help to EGM in its endeavour to fight climate change.
In his demise, an environment warrior has been lost, a release of EGM said, while praying for the departed soul to rest in peace.
In separate releases, AMWJU, MMTA, Panthoibi Natya Mandir, Poirei Eethiba Lup (PEEL) and Indo Burma Road Sports Association (IBSA) also expressed grief over the sudden demise of Th Bhogen and shared the pain of the bereaved family.
A two-minute silence was also observed as a mark of respect to the departed soul, the releases added.
