Highest ever Covid toll as 20 die; 592 cases detected

As the second wave of Covid-19 pandemic continues to rage, the state on Tuesday registered yet another record number of single-day highest fatality with 20 deaths apart from detection of 592 new positive cases in the last 24 hours.
With the addition of 592 new cases, active caseload has reached 4981, of which 2943 are recuperating in home isolation and the remaining 2038 undergoing treatment in hospitals and Covid Care Centres.
The highest single day peak of 600 positive cases was recorded on May 7 .
So far, 8182 cases have been reported since the beginning of the year including 4784 in the current month.
The last seven days reported 3414 cases.
In terms of fatalities, 154 death cases have been reported since the beginning of the year and 104 in the current month.
The last seven days reported 85 death cases.
According to official reports, all the 592 new cases (284 male & 308 female) are from among the general population.
Their samples were tested at JNIMS (103), RIMS (37), Imphal East (6), Imphal West (24), Maipakpi (6), Mother's Care (1), CMC (4), Hillside (2), Little Clinic (1), Samaritan (6), RD Wing (6), Ema Hospital (2), Raj Medicity (50), Asian Hospital (3), Advanced Hospital (4), Jivan Hospital (13), Shija Hospitals (40), Babina Diagnostics (110), Escent Diagnostics (31), Thoubal (17), Bishnupur (23), Kakching (11), Churachandpur (27), Chandel ((3), Senapati (6), Tamenglong 2), Tengnoupal (5), Jiribam 5), Kangpokpi (16), Kamjong 1) and Ukhrul (27).The positive cases are from Imphal East (176), Imphal West (216), Thoubal (37), Bishnupur (32), Kakching (26), Ukhrul (27), Chura-chandpur (34), Chandel (3), Senapati (9), Tamenglong (1), Kangpokpi (18), Kamjong (1), Tengnoupal (7) and Jiribam (5) .
All necessary measures like containment and contact tracing are in place.
The 20 fatalities reported on Tuesday include a 79-year-old female from Churachandpur, a 55-year-old female from Imphal East, a 56-year-old male from Imphal West, a 55-year-old female from Imphal East, a 35-year-old female from Imphal East, a 70-year-old male from Kakching, a 85-year-old female from Kakching, a 54-year-old male from Imphal East, a 61-year-old male from Thoubal, a 48-year-old male from Imphal East, a 57-year-old female from Chandel, a 54-year-old male from Imphal East, a 53-year-old male from Imphal East, a 51-year-old female from Thoubal, a 55-year-old male from Imphal West, a 55-year-old male from Kamjong, a 71-year-old female from Imphal West, a 77-year-old male from Imphal East, a 51-year-old male from Thoubal, and a 58-year-old male from Imphal West, who died at DH Churachandpur (1), Shija Hospitals (4), CCC Kakching (2), Raj Medicity (1), JNIMS (5) and RIMS (7) hospital respectively.
The cumulative number of deaths is 509 .
In the last 24 hours, 195 patients were discharged from CAPF (4), home isolation (162), RIMS (8), RD Wing (2), BB (2), SHRI (16) and Tengnoupal (1).The cumulative number of positive cases has reached 36,370 (general population - 32,702 and CAPF personnel - 3,668).Number of recovered cases is 30,880 (general population - 27,395 and CAPF personnel - 3,485) and number of active cases is 4981 (general population - 4803 and CAPF personnel - 178) .
The recovery rate is 84.90 per cent.
In the last 24 hours, 1045 D type Oxygen Cylinders and 383 B-type Oxygen cylinders have been made available to different health institutions and health facilities in the state.
District Hospitals have 118 D and 100 B type filled cylinders out of these, Bishnupur has (14 D, 12B), Chandel (18D, 9B), Churachandpur (13D,18B), Senapati (9D,15B), Thoubal (25D,27B), Ukhrul (7D,B10), Tamenglong (12D, 4B) and Jiribam (20D, 5B) .
So far, 2,75,880 individuals have been vaccinated against Covid-19, the CCR report said.
Meanwhile, 27 new Covid cases have been detected during RAT conducted in Kakching district.
Four were detected at Jivan Hospital, two at Ema Hospital and 21 at government testing centre.
The positive cases detected at government testing centre are from Langmeidong Bazar (4), Langmeidong Maning Makha Leikai (3), Kakching Makha Leikai (1), Kakching Wairi Kamala Pareng (1), Kakching Khunyai Leikai (1), Kakching Sumak Leikai (1), Kakching Ningthou Leikai (4), Yangdong Mayai Leikai (3), Thounaojam Maning (1), Lamjao Mayai Leikai (1), and Wabagai Kadajit (1).The four cases detected at Jivan Hospital are from Kakching Ningthoujam Leikai (1), Langmeidong Mamang Leikai (1), Elangkhanpokpi Yangdong (1), and Wangjing Wangkhei in Thoubal district (1) .
The two cases detected at Ema Hospital are from Kakching Makha Leikai (2).Data analysed by this daily shows that the rate of infection remains 11,721 confirmed cases per million population (based on projected population of 31,03,000 as per NCP report) against the national average of 17,489 CPM.
Test rate has improved to 2,07,290 tests per million population against the national average of 2,19,603 TPM.
Case fatality rate rose to 1.40 per cent.
In the past 24 hours, only 3442 samples were tested and the single day positivity rate was 17.20 per cent while the cumulative positivity rate further rose to 5.65 per cent.
