Tricolour boat rally celebrates I-Day

Youth for Nation, Manipur Prant organised Tiranga boat rally to mark the 75 years of India's independence on Loktak Lake near Karang island on Monday.
The rally was flagged off by Loktak Development Authority (LDA) chairman M Asnikumar.
The event focused on raising awareness and sending a message to the whole nation on the necessity of saving Manipur's treasured Loktak Lake at any cost for the present and future generations.
Youth for Nation urged all the citizens of the na tion to stop littering and polluting the wetlands and water bodies, particularly the iconic Loktak Lake and act responsibly to preserve the wetlands ecosystem of the nation.
Volunteers of the organisation appealed to all the stakeholders, particularly the young population to come forward and take part in the conservation mission of this iconic lake.
Speaking on the occasion, Asnikumar observed that the Loktak Lake with its rich history, socio-economic significance, scenic beauty and vital role in the regulation of the region's climatic condition, is truly a national asset and preserving it is a national duty.
He also appreciated the initiative of Youth for Nation which is spreading awareness about the importance of the Lake and the pressing need for its conservation's part of Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav celebrations.
