Inter-Generational Bonding Mela held

Thoubal, August 17 2022:
National Institute of Social Defence (NISD) New Delhi, Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment, Government of India in association with Interested Rural Development & Educational Organization (IRDEO-RRTC) organised a 1 Day Inter-Generational Bonding Mela at IRDEO Complex, Wangbal in Thoubal district.
It was attended by Khangabok AC MLA, Surjakumar Okram; MSPU & SCWFM Manipur president, Dr M Rajendra; District Social Welfare Officer Thoubal, A Rameshwar; National Human Rights Commission New Delhi senior core member, Sh Harimohon and LAPS Wangbal headmaster, Th Bhagirath as presidium members.
Speaking on the occasion, Okram Surjakumar stressed on the need to teach the young/present generation to love and respect the elderly.
"The beauty of our culture lies in the love and care given to the elderly", he added.
The MLA also urged the youths to learn from the experience and wisdom of the elderly.
O Surjakumar further assured to work out steps for the welfare of the elderly/aged persons.
As part of the event, National Awardee Kh Ibenpishak Devi, State Awardee Longjam Pishak Singh, female drummer Laishram Mani Devi and Padma Shri Awardee Hanjabam Radhe were also felicitated.
