HERICOUN president emphasizes on quality education for developed society

Imphal, August 17 2022:
Ethno Heritage Council (HERICOUN) president, Longjam Ratankumar has emphasized on the importance of inculcating humanity and aesthetics knowledge while educating the students.
He made the above statement while speaking at the inaugural function of Academic Block of UNACCO School, Khongman cum Freshers Day celebration held at the school today.
He further highlighted the need of providing quality education to the students to ensure that they are well equipped about the Manipuri society and to carry forth its cultural and traditional heritage.
Apart from providing formal education, the students should also be taught about life skills and values and foster critical and creative thinking, he added.
He also encouraged the students to listen to their conscience and to strive earnestly to achieve their goals in life.
UCM president, Joychandra Konthoujam; CCSK president, Jeetendra Ningomba; AMUCO president, Nando Luwang; UPF president, YK Dhiren; LIPUL president, Somarendro Thokchom and UNACCO School Director, Arup K Mukhopadhyay also attended the programme as the presidium members.
The dignitaries while speaking at the occasion also touched upon the issue of rising trend of taking tuition classes rather than focusing on normal classes and also maintained that the economic status of the State can be improved if the outflow of students to other States can be prevented by creating an advanced educational
environment in Manipur.
