Imphal, May 11 2021:
Naga Chief Association Chandel (NCAC) has demanded immediate removal of incumbent District Fishery Officer (DFO) Kh Ibetombi, maintaining that several schemes and projects of fishery department have failed under the incumbent DFO.
In a press release, NCAC informed that a memorandum has been submitted to CM N Biren through DC Chandel on May 7 highlighting anguish and grievances of the Chandel citizens.
NCAC questioned why the government of Manipur is silent on the matter and why such corrupted officer is posted in Chandel.
NCAC stated that many schemes and projects under the fishery department such as fishing farm, RKBY Schemes, NFDB, Jhora, Blue Resolution/Neal Kranti, FFDA Schemes, paddy cum Pisciculture, Kom-lathabi Fishery Farm and Kham-bathel Fishery Farm have failed completely under Kh Ibetombi.
Fishery land compound of Chan-del has been encroached at the behest of Kh Ibetombi and trees and plants from the Fishery Compound are being felled and ferried by the DFO for her personal purposes, NCAC alleged.
Expressing strong resentment that the protests by Fishery Farmers Development Committee of Chandel against the incumbent DFO are yet to evoke any response from the department concerned and Manipur government, NCAC appealed to the government to listen to the voices of the civil societies and remove the incumbent DFO Chandel at the earliest in the interest and welfare of the Chandel people.
