LNKR fumes over non-functioning of SBI Tamei

Liangmai Naga Katimai Ruangdi (LNKR), the apex Liangmai students' body, has expressed deep concern over non-operation of the State Bank of India (SBI), Tamei branch.
The students' body also cautioned that it would be compelled to take up legal actions against the bank if it does not function the way it should.
LNKR, in a press note, alleged that the employees are not regularly attending the bank and transactions are severely affected.
These factors are causing immense hardship to the villagers, said LNKR and informed that the process of opening bank accounts often gets disrupted at the bank despite the fact about 40 villag es in Tamei sub-division depend on this bank for their banking services.
"The most affected people are the daily wage earners and students," LNKR pointed out.
It further said that students are facing untold miseries as they are not being able to avail the pre /post matriculation scholarships due to the said reasons, and added, "It makes no sense that the bank is here but people are not being able to avail the facilities".
LNKR "earnestly pressed" the authorities concerned, higher ups to look into these matter 'with meticulous scrutiny and make sure that the bank operates smoothly or without any hiccups and make sure that the employees concerned are regular in their attendance and pace up any work left on the table without any delay" .
LNKR reiterated that it will be forced to take up "strict and legal actions against the bank if this request is not attended to" .
