Imphal, June 14 2021:
People responsible for irregularities and discrepancies in ration distribution in Naoriya Pakhanglakpa AC under NFSA should be identified and punished as per law.
RK Anand, ex-MLA Naoriya Pakhanglakpa AC and state executive member BJP Manipur Pradesh said this during the mass testing camp held at Lairenjan Sabal Maning Leikai community hall organised by COVID-19 Task Force Lairenjanm.
He also distributed face masks, face shields, sanitizers and financial aid to the task force.
Speaking to the media on the sideline of the mass testing camp, RK Anand said there has been many reports from different wards of Naoriya Pakhanglakpa AC regarding non distribution of ration under NFSA for various months in the current 11th Manipur Legislative Assembly term.
He sought attention of Chief Minister N Biren Singh and CAF&PD Minister to look after such incidents to find out the lapses in the system and punished those involved in embezzlement of rations meant for the beneficiaries under NFSA.
He questioned whether the mistakes are from the transporter's end or from the agents in the localities.
Due to lack of information and initiative by local agents and delaying in linking aadhaar with ration cards and renewal of the same, many beneficiaries have been left out of the new list of beneficiaries and that has caused additional hardships for the underprivileged families during this time of the pandemic, he added.
MLA and his agents had to play an important role in such matter to do the needful like linking aadhaar and ration card or renewal of ration cards on time, but the disqualification of local MLA of Naoriya Pakhanglakpa AC has left and void and the people are facing these problems, he added.
He also appealed all local clubs, Meira Paibis and CSOs to join hands in ensuring that rice ration under PMGKAY announced by Prime Minister Narendra Modi to be distributed till November reaches to the beneficiaries without fail.
RK Anand also appealed the Government to inaugurate the Urban Health Centre at Kwakeithel Laishram Leikai at the earliest so that people of the locality can take benefit of a health centre during this times of the pandemic.
He also urged the Government to utilise the centre as a vaccination centre for 18-44 years group like the 7 days mass vaccination camp recently held at the centre where more than 500 people where vaccinated.
He also urged everyone to do their part in the fight against the pandemic by following the SOP as mandated by relevant government authority like wearing masks, maintaining social distancing and washing hands regularly.
The event was also attended by Mutum Dineshwor, vice president, BJP Manipur Pradesh Kisan Morcha and Loitongbam Surchandra, ex member Kodompokpi Zilla Parishad.
RK Anand also distributed relief material to families inside containment zones in Hiyangthang, Konjeng Leikai, Mongshangei and Kwakeithel Laishram Leikai today.
