459 new positive cases reported

Imphal, June 14 2021:
The death count continues to rise with 16 more falling to COVID-19 while 459 including 7 Central security personnel tested positive during the last 24 hours.
The 459 positive cases were found from among 5257 samples tested taking the positivity rate to 8.7 percent.
With 16 more deaths, the total number of deaths so far in Manipur now stands at 990 and the late persons belonged to Imphal West (4), Imphal East (3), Thoubal (3), Bishnupur (2), Kakching (1) and Churachandpur (3) .
They passed away at RIMS (2), JNIMS (6), Shija Hospital (5) and Churachandpur District Hospital (3) .
In a statement, the COVID-19 Control Room said that the 452 civilians who tested positive included 220 women and all the 459 positive cases were detected at RIMS (18), JNIMS (18), District Hospitals (288) and other testing centres (135) .
The positive cases from amongst the general population were drawn from Imphal East (39), Imphal West (136), Thoubal (77), Bishnupur (78), Kakching (29), Ukhrul (26), Churachandpur (22), Chandel (10), Senapati (9), Tamenglong (10), Tengnoupal (7), Kangpokpi (7) and Pherzawl (2) .
All necessary measures like containment and contact tracing have been taken up, added the statement.
On the other hand 499 persons were discharged in the last 24 hours including 336 from home isolation, 24 from RIMS, 6 from JNIMS, and 133 from other Covid Care Centres.
The recovery rate stands at 84.35 percent.
The cumulative number of positive cases is 60,311 (general population-56,534 and Central security personnel-3777) while the cumulative number of recovered cases is 50,878.The number of active cases is 8443 including 11 Central security personnel.
On the other hand, out of 53 air passengers who were tested at BT Airport in the last 24 hours, one has been found positive.
As a result, the COVID-19 Control Room has asked all those who travelled to the State on June 12 by Air India AI-889 and were seated on rows 16-22 to inform the Common Covid Control Room on 1800-345-3818 or respective district surveillance officers for further surveillance and testing.
In the last 24 hours a total of 1451 D Type Oxygen cylinders and 413 B Type Oxygen cylinders have been made available to different health centres.
The total number of persons who have received their vaccination shots stands 4,67,403 .
