SAACA disapproves plying of heavy vehicles

Imphal, June 14 2021:
Sulam Area Anal Chief Association (SAACA), Chandel has urged vehicle owners and drivers to avoid plying of heavy vehicle namely MAN 415-Shaktiman, Ashok Leyland, Tata Pickup, Tata Sumo, Tata 407 and other loaded vehicles on the Chandel to Vomku Road via Thangkin-Khongyon village connecting BRTF Road Tengnoupal-New Samta during the rainy season.
In a release, SAACA chairman LK Premson stated that the road which is the lifeline of Sulam has been in a deplorable condition for many years.
With development assistances from the government forthcoming, the particular lifeline is being repaired periodically and maintained by the villages through voluntary contributions each year, it said.
SACCA also contended that many appeals for development of the road in the form of petition and memorandum have been submitted to the state government but without any positive response from the authorities concerned till date.
The release therefore urged operators of heavy vehicles to avoid plying their vehicles on this route during the monsoon season to avoid future inconveniences.
