Condolence for K Kaping Maram continues to pour in

Maram Union deeply mourned the demise of (Late) K Kaping Maram Member of Steering Executive Committee NSCN/GPRN who breathed his last on June 13 at his residence at Tahamzam (Senapati) after a brief illness.
His funeral service adhering to Covid SOPs was held today at his native village, Ngatan, 35 km away from Senapati District H/Q .
True to his multifaceted roles, (Late) K Kaping Maram had served the Naga Nation since 1974 in different capacities till date, said a press release by Maram Union.
In the brief period of his break in services of the Nation, he had served as the 10 th Maram Union President at the crucial stage of the prevailing political Naga issue, then.
Later he was appointed as the Town Commissioner (1993-1998) of Karong Senapati Town Committee, which monitors and supervises the affairs of Senapati District commercial town in collaboration with the District Administration.
In his condolence message, Maram Union President K Raisong said that Maram people have lost a guardian and his death is not only a profound loss for his family but for the Maram people in particular and the Maram Thangal community in general.
Convener, Steering Committee, Ashio Asoumai in his condolence note said he was deeply saddened by the sudden demise of the departed soul and described (Late) K Kaping Maram as a dedicated man who had loved Naga Nation and displayed his patriotic spirit till his last breath and that the void created by his demise will be difficult to fill in.
Executive Officer, Maram Thangal Region NSCN/GPRN, YK Achand said the region recognized his sacrifice and dedication to the cause of Naga Nation and that his name shall be written in the pages of Nagalim.
President Karong-Senapati Town Committee (KSTC) remembered his untiring and selfless sacrifices in his service to KSTC.
Maram-Thangal Council (an Organization of two Tribes of Maram & Thangal) recalled his valuable contribution to the Maram-Thangal Region and the Nation.
Former Minister, Ngajokpa Francis said that (Late) K Kaping had fought a good fight and finished the race and kept the faith.
Former Deputy Speaker, K Raina had paid his last respect to the mortal remains of the departed soul.
Ex-Vice Chairman, ADC Senapati, Hingba John recalled him with gratitude for his service to the people for common goals.
Many prominent Naga Social Activists across the Naga Borders expressed their condolences and remembered the departed soul as a God fearing man who would constantly pray while in the jungle especially in the early 80s when the Indo-Naga peace was at parleys.
The Funeral service was conducted by local Pastor of Ngatan Baptist Church, T Rocksoh.
All ranks and files of Maram Thangal region national workers paid homage to the departed soul.
