Jamwal meets CM on BJP state chief issue

Imphal, June 14 2021:
BJP National general secretary north east incharge Ajay Jamwal arrived here in an Imphal-Guwahati flight on Monday morning to discuss the appointment of a new president of the party's state unit.
Immediately upon his arrival, the north-east in-charge visited the residence of deceased BJP Manipur Pradesh president S Tikendra with party office bearers and offered condolences to the bereaved family.
The team also visited the residence of another deceased party leader Samurailatpam Satyabhama.
Later, Ajay Jamwal met CM Biren around 7 pm, wherein they discussed the appointment of a new party president.
The present pool of candidate includes MLA Th Radheshaym, MLA Sapam Ranjan, party VP Adhikarimayum Sarda, VP N Nimbus, ex-VP S Premananda, spokesperson Asnikumar, etc .
As it has been the custom of BJP for the national leaders to appoint the new president, it is still uncertain who leaders in New Delhi will choose for the post.
The selection will likely be done within the month of June considering the upcoming elections and other pending works of the party.
Additionally, the meeting discussed the Covid assistance programmes undertaken by the party in the state.
The CM also extended his appreciation for the assistance provided by the central government during the pandemic.
