Liquor seized from various places

A large quantity of IMFL worth Rs 50,000 was recovered from a truck (MN05C-0535) driven by one Lungaiganpou Luke (26), son of Pugaina Rongmei of Thanagong Khoupum, Tamenglong district by a police team of FCP Jiribam on Wednesday.
According to police reports, a team of FCP Jiribam conducted frisking operation at the gate of FCP as a part of continuous drive against illicit liquor in view of the upcoming Assembly Election 2022.During the operation, one truck (MN05C-0535) coming from Silchar towards Jiribam along NH-37 was stopped for checking and recovered 168 cans of Kingfisher beer (500 ml), 125 bottles (375 ml) and 60 bottles (750 ml) of McDowell No 1 whisky.
The driver along with the seized items has been handed over to Jiribam police station OC for further legal action.
Meanwhile, a team led by Bishnupur district commando OC assisted by SI Netrajit seized 956 cans of Kingfisher beer from the possession of one Romita Devi (46), wife of (L) Y Dumber Singh of Bishnupur Ward No 4 but presently residing at Nambol Chingmang on Thursday.
The seized items along with the accused have been handed over to Bishnupur police station for further legal action.
Similarly, a team of Excise Enforcement Team Thoubal District led by district nodal officer P Ranjit raided hotels operating along the national highways and seized IMFL and DIC liquor worth Rs 17,000 .
