Tamenglong veteran doctor feted on National Doctors' Day

In commemoration of the National Doctors' day and in an effort to recognise the undying spirit of the doctors in Tamenglong district, 44 Assam Rifles under the aegis of 22 Sector/IGAR(E) paid a thanksgiving visit to the residence of Dr LT Panmei (78), who retired as Tamenglong CMO.
Dr Panmei is the senior most retired doctor who had served the community during his professional life and continues to do social service.
Commandant of 44 Assam Rifles, while interacting with Dr Panmei, appreciated and acknowledged his selfless and untiring service to humanity and especially during the testing times of ongoing pandemic.
Dr Panmei was honoured for his professional contribution towards humanity.
On this occasion, the unit band played melodies in honour of doctors and other medical staff who are tirelessly working to fight the virus.
In its unique and one of its kind "Mobile Vaccination Drive" initiative under the banner "Near to home Covid vaccination centre (NHCVC)", the unit has successfully vaccinated 1440 individuals till now from the remotest and inaccessible areas of Tamenglong and Kangpokpi districts.
The battalion aims to inoculate 10,000 people an endeavour to expedite the vaccination process in the state.
The unit has also successfully established one of its kind and the first in the state, Covid vaccination centre (CVC) at its Battalion headquarters, Tamenglong.
