SOREPA OGW, recruiter arrested

Imphal, January 31 2023:
A combined team of Bishnupur district police commandos and 16 Assam Rifles rounded up an over ground worker of the armed Socialist Revolutionary Party (SOREPA) Kangleipak from near Nambol Khoriphaba traffic point on Tuesday.
The arrestee has been identified as Ningombam Rabichandra Singh (23) son of Pakpi of Moidangpok Khunou Mayai Leikai in Imphal West district.
According to police, based on specific input about movement of some UG members in and around Nambol Khoriphaba area at 10:30 am, teams of CDO-BPR under the command of sub inspector Robinson and a column of 16 AR immediately rushed to the area and Conducted search operation during which an unknown pedestrian, later identified as Ningombam Rabichandra Singh, was detained.
On further interrogation, he revealed that he is an OGW of SOREPA, a breakaway group of the banned KYKL, working under one Moirangthem Naoba Meitei, who recently recruited two youths, the po lice informed.
Rabichandra has been handed over to Nambol police station for further investigation.
Meanwhile, Moirangthem Naoba Meitei alias Manaoton (27) s/o late M Tenubabu, has been arrested by Imphal East district police commandos during frisking arid checking near Moirangkampu forest gate on Tuesday.
According to another police report, Naoba of Leingangpokpi in Jiribam district but presently staying at Top Moirangkampu is an active member of SOREPA.
The report further informed that after receiving specific information from 16 AR, a team of the commando unit conducted frisking and checking near Top Moirangkampu forest gate and apprehended Naoba.
Naoba joined SOREPA under one Sanatomba of Langathel in 2022 and is presently working under the command of self-styled major Laingou.
Recently, he recruited two people to the party, the report said, while adding that Naoba has been handed over to Porompat police station for taking up necessary legal actions.
