BJP political camp organised at Longpi Kachui

A daylong political awareness programme of Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) was organised on Saturday by Chingai AC intending candidate and former minister Dr Khashim Ruivah at Longpi Kachui.
A release by media cell of Dr Khashim informed that the meeting was attended by leaders from the state unit, 45-Chingai Mandal, representatives of different village units of BJP, ST Morcha and District Mandal.
In his address, Dr Khashim sajd that BJP is committed to make India a global superpower and has firm resolve to work for progress and build a prosperous society.
He also added that the party is making all efforts to reduce poverty and establish an egalitarian society.
The BJP in all its conviction, Dr Rjiivah asserted, looks to uphold democracy and people-centric government.
To allay the misconception and unfounded propaganda about the saffron party, he also said that every faith has a place in the party's ethos and to ensure secularism in the country has always been the top agenda of BJP.
The candidate aspirant further highlighted that the national Institute of Bio-Resources and Sustainable Development (IBSD) was brought to Manipur during his tenure as minister for Higher and Technical Education.
However, this important institute has been neglected over the years by successive governments.
He stated that he has been apprising the state government to pay serious attention to this aspect, and put the institute to a better use.
Recalling his stint as MLA of Chingai assembly constituency, he maintained that Tangkhul language was given recognition in the Assembly and for inclusion in the syllabus of higher secondary education.
He, however, rued that none of the local MLAs has made any effort to take forward the matter.
The programme was moderated by Norbert Khayi with welcome address delivered by RK Thotmathing.
Representatives of Maichon, Tora, Teinem, Sirarakhong, Phalee, Somdal, Hoomi, Kachai, Ringui, Phungcham, Paorei, New Tusom, Chingjaroi, Kalhang, Kuirei, Marem, Namrei, Nungbi Hirei and Leisan villages attended the programme.
As part of the daylong political awareness programme, two-time MLA Dr Ruivah visited Nungbi Khullen and held interactions with party workers, well-wishers and village leaders.
