Honour charter of demands: VDF Assn

Imphal, November 13 2021: All Manipur VDF Welfare Association president Md Riyaz Khan has urged authority concerned/government to honour the charter of demands placed and pursued by 10,050 VDF personnel for more than 13 years now.

Addressing media persons at Manipur Press Club here on Saturday, Riyaz Khan said that the association's units in 60 assembly constituencies of the state launched a signature campaign regarding the charter of demands.

Copies of the campaign were submitted to chief minister, cabinet ministers, MLAs, BJP and authority concerned but delaying tactics is being played in departmental proceedings as if waiting for the announcement of the election code of conduct, he said and urged authority concerned to take immediate steps to concede the demands at the earliest.

The chief minister had given approval for translating the demands into action but there has been no positive process even after two months of giving the approval, he added.
