Imphal, November 13 2021:
The Federation of Government College Teachers' Associations, Manipur (FEGOCTA) has warned of strong democratic protest if the Government does not fulfill its promise of 7th pay for college teachers by November 27 .
In a statement issued today, FEGOCTA said the associations had called off its 6th agitation after the Cabinet's decision of July 3, 2021 to grant 7th pay to the college teachers.
However, even after 4 months of the decision, the college teachers have not been provided the revised salary.
FEGOCTA accused the State Government of using 'delaying tactics' in implementing the National policy of 7th UGC pay approved by the Union Cabinet headed by the Prime Minister.
FEGOCTA also questioned why the college teachers are being discriminated and left out from the fold of 7th pay while all other employees of different departments have already been enjoying the new revised pay.
FEGOCTA appealed the concerned authorities to issue 7th UGC pay slips immediately to ensure smooth functioning of colleges.
