Covid claims four more lives, 49 test positive

Even as the Covid-19 positivity rate remains below three per cent for the second consecutive day, the pandemic has claimed four more lives during the last 24 hours.
In the last 24 hours, the State Level Covid-19 Deaths Audit Committee reported four Covid-19 deaths.
The victims hailed from Imphal East (2), Imphal West (1) and Chandel (1) .
Out of them, two had comorbidities, one had had second dose of Covid vaccine but three of them had not been vaccinated.
Taking into account the latest victims, the State's Covid-19 death toll has reached 1946 .
A press release issued by Additional Director (Health) and Covid-19 Common ControL Room spokesman Dr Khoirom Sasheekumar Mangang informed that 49 persons were confirmed as Covid-19 positive out of 1,767 samples tested during the last 24 hours which puts the daily positivity rate at 2.8 per cent.
The fresh Covid-19 positive cases were detected at RIMS (9), JNIMS (5) and other testing centres (35) .
The 49 individuals who have been tested positive are residents of imphal East (13), Imphal West (31), Bishnupur (2), Chandel (1), Noney (1) and Ukhrul (1) .
During the last 24 hours, Imphal West recorded the highest positivity rate at 5.6 per cent followed by Noney 5.3 per cent and Imphal East 4 per cent.
Meanwhile, 36 people who were undergoing treatment at home isolation (1), RIMS (2), JNIMS (5) and CCCs (28) were discharged today following recovery.
The cumulative number of positive cases is 1,24,432 (general population 1,20,082 and Central security personnel 4,350) .
It includes 799 active cases (general population 783 and Central security personnel 16) and 1,21,687 recovered cases (general population 1,17,358 and Central security personnel 16) .
The recovery rate is 97.79 per cent.
In the last 24 hours, a total of 524 D-type oxygen cylinders and 23 B-type oxygen cylinders have been made available to different health facilities of the State.
The cumulative number of COVID-19 vaccine doses administered in the State has reached 20,48,778 (1st dose 12,59,533 and 2nd dose 7,89,245) .
This includes 8,343 doses administered on November 12 .
So far, 53.80 per cent of the State's total population have received the first dose of Covid vaccine while 33.71 per cent have been administered both the first dose and second dose.
