Tribute to tribal freedom fighters from Nov 15

As part of Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav celebrations, Tribal Affairs & Hills Department is organising three events during November 15-22 to pay respect to the tribal freedom fighters, a press note from the department said.
According to the press note, Government of India has decided to commemorate November 15 as 'Janjatya Gaurav Divas' in recognition of valiant efforts of tribal freedom fighters who contributed greatly to the freedom movement.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi will lead the celebrations of Janjatya Gaurav Divas oh November 15.On the occasion of Janjatya Gaurav Divas, the Tribal Affairs & Hills department will be organising state level painting and photo exhibition of tribal freedom fighters on November 15 at Tribal Research Institute, Chingmeirong to honour the tribal freedom fighters of the state.
Tribal Affairs & Hills minister Vungzagin Valte will lead the celebrations of Janjatya Gaurav Divas at 11 am on November 15 and other activities under Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav during November 15-22.Descendants and relatives of tribal freedom fighters will also participate in the event on November 15, the press note further informed.
The department will also conduct a 3-day state level workshop on skill upgradation/capacity building on tribal art & painting at the Tribal Research Institute from November 16-18, and a 3-day state level workshop on skill upgradation/capacity buildingon pottery & clay modelling from November 19-22 at the same avenue in collaboration with Imphal Art College as part of Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav activities, it added.
