Imphal, July 01 2021:
In connection with its upcoming 21st Foundation Day, United Committee of Manipur (UCM) has extended assistance to people who are working to curb the spread of Covid-19 pandemic.
In a statement, UCM IPR secretary Lamaba said that the pandemic has proven the important roles of labour force in the progress of a society and the nation.
In Manipur's context, they would be taking on the key roles of bringing development in the state, which has been halted by the pandemic, back on track.
As such, one must not forget the hard work and contributions made by the labour force, he maintained.
"UCM not only appreciates the labour force but also extends its assistance to them.
However, there are many who are yet to receive assistance from the government or private individuals.
Nonetheless, there are also many including passenger transport service providers, traders and others who are continuing to bravely fight for survival each day with aid from banks, while not taking the assistance of the government", he said.
As such, UCM prays that that Manipur would be able beat the pandemic and emerged as a self-sustainable state on the occasion of the Committee's 21st Foundation Day, he contended.
Since there is no cure for Covid-19, Lamba urged all concerned to strictly adhere to Covid-19 guidelines provided by WHO, adding that we need to follow the rules by ourselves first before others can follow suit.
