Imphal, August 07 2021:
Lamlai Mapari Thougal Lup has urged government to take steps for providing subsidised urea fertilizer to poor farmers of Lamlai assembly constituency.
In a statement, the Lup pointed out that there are more than 12,000 'paris' of paddy field in Lamlai assembly constituency, but majority of farmers are yet to get urea as they are facing problems due the constituency having no representative (MLA) at present.
Reports of mobile urea distribution in Imphal West district by the department as part of government's initiative to provide urea are being heard through media and social media and this indeed is a good step taken up by the chief minister and the agriculture minister, the Lup said and thanked the chief minister and the agriculture minister.
However, such mobile distribution of urea is not seen in other districts, it noted, and urged the agriculture minister and the department concerned to take up such step in other districts as well more particularly in Lamlai AC which had no elected representative.
