Bodies mourn demise of A Lala, M Gourachandra, W Yaima

Manipur State Council Communist Party of India (CPI) has expressed deepest condolences over the untimely demise of its treasurer Athokpam Lala, who passed away on Tuesday, morning at his Top Mayai Leikai residence.
In a release, MSC/CPI informed that a condolence programme was organised during which the party's flag was laid over Lala's mortal remains and given red salute.
The programme was attend ed by former state secretary L Sotinkumar, assistant secretaries - Joykumar Luwang, Rk Amusana,Th Sakhi, Th Yaiskul and L Sumatibala; district secretaries S Gopeshwor Sharma and H Bimola, Youth and Students leaders, party members and locals of Top Kshetrigao, the release informed.
On the other hand, Manipur Sahitya Parishad, Imphal informed that a meeting was organised at its office premises, here, on Tuesday to condole the demise of Manipuri and Sanskrit literature scholar Mayanglambam Gourachandra who passed away on Monday.
According to the release, Gourachandra was a recipient of 82th Gaveshnabhusan Award presented by Manipur Sahitya Parishad and had written 25 Manipuri and Sanskrit literature books.
Sahitya Seva Samiti, Kakching and Macha Chanu, Kakching also mourned the demise of Gourachandra, who was scholar, author and People's Museum Kakching founder.
The organisations joint ly convened a condolence meeting at the residence of Sahitya Seva Samiti, Kakching secretary Kshetrimayum Joykumar Singh on Tuesday wherein two minutes' silence was observed as a mark of respect to the departed soul and shared the pain and grief of the bereaved family.
Meanwhile, Poirei Kumhou Khorjei Lup condoled the untimely demise of its founder president and lyricist Wahengbam Yaima who passed away on January 28.In a release, the Lup remembered Yaima as a dedicated teacher, who also took great responsibility in the establishment of Kumbi College.
He was also the first president of Kumbi Bazar Development Committee and Kumbi Nagar Panchayat chairperson and AIR Imphal approved lyricist and playwright, the release informed.
