Imphal, May 28 2021: The court of CJM Imphal West has remanded one Naorem Jupiter (19) son of Bijen of Kakwa Naorem Leikai, who was accused of igniting a house on fire, to judicial custody till June 11 .

He was also formally arrested after appearing in the court.

A team of Singjamei PS paraded Jupiter before of the court through Jitsi meet platform on Friday during which the defence counsel submitted an application pleading the court for granting bail to Jupiter.

However, the APP argued that Jupiter was directly involved in the incident of setting on fire the incomplete house of one Keisham Ranjan of Kakwa Huidrom Leikai.

After listening to the argument of both sides, the judge remanded Jupiter to judicial custody till June 11 .

Later Singjamei PS filed an application in the court for effective formal arrest of Jupiter as he was involved in four other cases as well.

Accordingly, the court upheld the request.
