Total lockdown extended till June 3 in Northern Maram

Senapati, May 28 2021:
In view of the increasing numbers of COVID-19 in the second wave, the total lockdown imposed in the Northern Maram area has been extended till June 3 .
Meanwhile, three local Shaktiman vehicles, two Tata DI, carrying materials for house construction and three private cars randomly plying on National Highway were also detained by the Covid Task Force of the area for violating the norms of total shutdown.
The stringent measures were necessitated in view of the increasing number of COVID positive cases in neighbouring areas.
Besides, to further instill the importance of sanitation to the public, a sanitation drive was also conducted at Northern Maram Markets- Maram Bazar, Sagongbam, Maram Centre, Patang & Lairouching.
Important public places including the Post Office, PHC Maram and local Quarantine camps were also sanitized using frogging machines.
The sanitation drive was carried out under the initiative of Maram Students' Union ( MKS), Senapati DC, Mahesh Chowdary by the Senapati Youth Brigade of Indian Red Cross Society.
