Double digit deaths continue with 13, 732 new cases detected

Imphal, May 28 2021:
With 13 deaths in the last 24 hours, Manipur continues to report double digits casualties since the last few days.
With the 13 cases, the death toll due to coronavirus has touched 761 as per COVID-19 Common Control Room.
Notably, this figure of the Covid control room is excluding the deaths of the 7-year-old girl from Imphal West on May 25 and a 40-year-old man from Ukhrul a day later on May 26 .
With these two cases, the death toll is at 763 .
Meanwhile, the number of daily fresh Covid infections saw a drop from yesterday with 732 people testing positive.
Manipur had reported 813 fresh cases on May 27 .
The 732 cases were detected while testing 4,307 samples, meaning 16.99 percent of the total samples tested positive.
The total number of Covid positive cases has reached 47,843 including 7,602 active cases.
With as many as 579 persons recovering from the disease in the last 24 hours, the total number of recovered cases has reached 39,480 .
The recovery rate stands at 82.51 per cent.
So far, 3,70,500 persons have been vaccinated against COVID-19 .
Meanwhile, the 13 deaths reported by the Covid control room include seven men and six women.
All of them were above the age of 30 while three were below 45 years.
Imphal West and Imphal East district reported 4 deaths each while Thoubal and Bishnupur reported 2 deaths cases each.
Ukhrul reported one case.
The victims from Imphal West district were two women aged 31 and 84 and two men aged 63 and 75 years.
The victims from Imphal West include one men aged 62 and three women aged 41, 60 and 73 years.
The victims from Bishnupur were a 55-year-old woman and a 68-year-old man.
The victim from Ukhrul was a 76-year-old man.
On the other hand, the 732 fresh infections include one personnel of the Central Armed Police Force and 731 from the general population.
They tested positive for Covid at testing facilities opened at District Hospitals (358), private hospitals (284), JNIMS (85) and RIMS (5) .
The 731 cases from the general population include 363 males and 368 females.
Imphal West for consecutive days continued to report the highest number of infections among the districts.
Imphal West reported 213 cases followed by Imphal East (170), Thoubal (83), Bishnupur (73), Kakching (64), Churachandpur (62), Kangpokpi (19), Ukhrul (19), Tamenglong (6), Pherzawl (6), Senapati (5), Chandel (4), Jiribam (3), Noney (3) and Tengnoupal (1) .
According to the Covid control room, as many as 579 recovered from the disease in the last 24 hours.
While 472 of them recovered under Home Isolation, the remaining have been discharged from Covid Care Centres opened at CAPF (24), SHRI (14), NSU (13), Lamboikhongnangkhong (11), Churachandpur (10), BB (7), Ukhrul (7), LANVA (6), RIMS (5), JNIMS (4), Thoubal (3), RD Wing (2) and Babina Speciality Hospital (1) .
The cumulative number of Covid positive cases is 47,843 (general population-44,092 and Central security personnel-3,751) .
The cumulative number of recovered cases is 39,480 (general population-35,807 and Central security personnel-3,673) .
The number of active cases is 7,602 (general population-7,529 and Central security personnel-73) .
In the last 24 hours, a total of 1,580 D-type oxygen cylinders and 592 B-type oxygen cylinders have been made available to different healthcare institutions in the State, said the Covid control room.
