'Appoint an eligible Director of V and AH Services as per the service rules'

Imphal, May 28 2021:
All Manipur Veterinary and Animal Husbandry Field Assistant Employees Union to launch strict form of agitations like complete shutdown of all veterinary hospitals, dispensaries including Livestock farms from June 7 if the authorities concerned fail to address their grievances and demands within June 5 .
The Union has been demanding to appoint an eligible officer as the director of Veterinary and Animal Husbandry (V and AH) services as per the service rules.
Regarding the issue, a meeting was convened at the office complex of V and AH Services at Sanjenthong and resolved to launch the agitation, said a statement by Y Khamba Singh, president of the Union.
The statement continued that the demands should be fulfilled on or before June 5 failing which the employees have to resort to such agitations.
The secretary general of the Union will be sending separate letter to the authorities concerned of the State namely the Governor, Chief Minister, V and AH Minister, Chief Secretary and commissioner of V and AH to apprised them of the issue.
The meeting also resolved to urged the Government to provide the life insurance and coverage to veterinary doctors, para vets and other staff as extended to officers and staff of Health Department since the veterinary doctors and staff are also highly susceptible to get infected with COVID-19 .
The Union also condoled the untimely demise of two employees of the Directorate, MD Ahamad who was a LDC and H Birjitkumar Singh who was a driver of the Directorate Office, Sanjenthong.
Further the Union appealed all the employees to adhere to Covid SOPs and protocols while performing their duties.
It may be mentioned that ever since the retirement of former director of the V and AH Services in February, the Commissioner of V and AH Services was appointed as the Director on March 11 .
The Union held a meeting on May 9 in this regard and condemned such acts of the Government and has been demanding to appoint an eligible director as per the service rules.
Voicing the same demands, Manipur Loumi Lup in a separate statement urged the Government to appoint an eligible director of Veterinary and Animal Husbandry Services at the earliest for the welfare of the department and to resolve the ongoing chaos in the department amid the COVID-19 pandemic.
