MANIREDA starts repairing of defective street lamps

Following the media report about theft and defective solar street lamps installed at different localities of Moreh town, a team of MANIREDA visited the border town on Thursday and started repairing the defective solar street lamps.
The MANIREDA team led by senior scientific officer Babita Thangjam also interacted with community leaders and discussed about the repair work and action to be taken up to find out missing solar plates and bulbs.
Meetei Council Moreh president M Thoiba Singh, vice president L Tomba Singh, general secretary L Brojen Meitei and others took part in the interaction.
After meeting the community leaders, Babita told media persons that a complaint has been lodged at Moreh police station regarding missing of solar plates and bulbs and police will soon take up necessary action.
She also said that all the defective solar plates and bulbs will be replaced or repaired soon and engineering staff of MADNANI which works under MANIREDA have started repairing the defective parts.
According to Babita, the defective solar street lamp at Moreh Ward No.6 Tali Road has been repaired as also two solar street lamps at Ward No 6 Nepali Basti and Durga Mandir.
Three solar bulbs at Moreh Ward No 5 Labuk Leikai and Mayai Leikai too have been repaired, she said, adding that other solar lamps will be made functional soon.
