Accused remanded

The Chief Judicial Magistrate Imphal West remanded the person who was arrested on the charge of triggering bomb attack at Little Flower School on on June 5 to three days police custody.
Accused Thounaojam Rishi (45), s/o Shelung of Kangla Sangomsang Makha Leikai was produced before the CJM Imphal West by a team of Lamphel Police Station.
The IO of the case through APP submitted that they obtained video footage of the CCTV installed near the school and learnt that one unknown person assembled explosive items and later planted it below the gate no 2 of Little Flower School and ignited the wire using a gas burner.
The bomb exploded at around 3:12 am.
The Court on perusal of the materials placed before and after hearing the submission of the IO remanded the accused to three days police custody.
Imphal West SP had on June 7 stated that the accused is an NRFM cadre and he was arrested from his residence by a team of Imphal West commando on June 6 night and seized explosive material which include 58 PEK sticks weighing around seven and a half kilograms, three coils of cordtex wire, 397 detonators and 2 batteries from his possession.
The accused was also charged of carrying out a series of other bomb attacks at Nagamapal, Khurai Thoidingjam Leikai.
