Farmers' discussion cum training programme conducted

A farmers' discussion programme on Organic Kharif 2022 and reduction of climate change cum training programme was held at the Farmers' Convention Centre of the Green Foundation at Kwakeithel today.
The above programme was jointly organised by the Directorate of Environment and Climate Change and the Green Foundation in connection with World Environment Day.
Director of the Directorate of Environment and Climate Change , Dr T Brajakumar, former Dean of Central Agricultural University (CAU), Dr N Iboton and manager of Birac Regional Techno Entrepreneurship Centre, Kalinga Institute of Industrial Technology Business Incubator, Bhubaneshwar, Dr Kangabam Rajiv attended the programme as the presidium members.
The programme was also attended by members of Farmer Interest Groups under Mission Organic Value Chain Development for North Eastern Region (MOVCDNER) .
Speaking in connection with the programme, CEO of the Green Foundation, U Himmat said that it has been organised with an aim to sensitize the farmers about producing ample produce and about their role in safeguarding the natural environment thereby reducing climate change.
With the evolution of organic and sustainable farming, the use of chemicals, fertilizers and pesticides have reduced considerably which has helped in conserving the natural resources and maintaining the ecological balance, he added.
