Govt notifies parking, traffic diversion for June 18

Imphal, June 16 2022:
Traffic Control Police Wing has notified parking arrangement and traffic diversion in connection with the Great June Uprising Unity Day, to be observed on June 18 .
In a notification, SP Traffic Control Police Wing Wungpam Kasar informed that people coming to Kekrupat will be allowed entry only from Minuthong and Khuman Lampak side, while no one except earmarked vehicles will be allowed entry to Kekrupat via Keishampat.
All vehicles will be diverted from Kongba Crossing towards Singjamei bridge with one-way traffic system to be enforced along the Loklaobung bridge and Thumbuthong bridge and vehicles will be allowed to ply only from West to East i.e., from NH2 towards Thangapat, it added.
The notification further said that designated parking area for vehicles ferrying people to attend the function will be near Palace Compound Ground with Hafiz Hatta road dropping area for vehicles coming from Thoubal side after diversion at Singjamei bridge while vehicles coming from Mayang Imphal side will be diverted from Pishumthong.
Designated parking and dropping area for vehicles coming from Tiddim side, New Cachar road, Thoubal and Uripok-Kangchup road will be near Khuman Lampak sports complex and Hafiz Hatta road via Loklao bung bridge.
The notification informed that vehicles coming from Sekmai side will proceed towards Khuman Lampak complex from Dingku Road and drop the passengers there.
Vehicles coming from Pangei, Tinsid road and Sawombung side will be diverted at Lamlong Bazar towards Minuthong for dropping the passengers.
Vehicles from Yairipok and Andro can head towards Minuthong to drop the passengers, it stated.
The notification also said that vehicles of family members of the 18 victims of June 18 incident will be allowed cross Khoyathong LIC crossing towards North AOC and park at RK Sanatombi College, North AOC.
