KUDA calls for Govt intervention

Kakching, June 16 2022:
Claiming that Mantak village is a part of Kakching district and not Chandel district, Keirak United Development Association (KUDA) has appealed to the State Government and Department concerned to book the person responsible for publishing a press note under the letterhead of "Mantak Village Authority, BPO Mantak Chandel District, Pin No 795103" .
Addressing a press conference held at Keirak Yawabung today, N Achouba, secretary of KUDA alleged that a person claiming to be secretary of Mantak Village Authority released a press note on June 10 under the said letterhead.
He mentioned that Mantak is a village of Kakching district resided by Kom community while adding that the village is under Keirak Gram Panchayat and 36-Wabagai Assembly Constituency.
Expressing reservations against the claims made by some that Keirak Mamang Ching is a part of Mantak village, he appealed to the State Government to arrest the individuals trying to incite communal tension in the district.
He also cautioned that the association would resort to democratic form of agitation if the Government failed to heed to their demands.
N Achouba further urged the Deputy Commissioners of Chandel and Kakching districts to look into the matter at the earliest to prevent any form of untoward incidents in the future.
