TRAU clinch fourth straight victory in MNCA Elite Tournament

The MNCA Elite Tournament's action on Thursday saw TRAU (Kwakeithel) claim a comprehensive 60-run win over REYS (Khwai Nagamapal) at Luwangpokpa Cricket Stadium.
This was TRAU's fourth win on the trot.
Priyojit Kangabam's brilliant knock of 87 off 68 balls helped TRAU post 177/7 in 30 overs after the Nagamapal side elected to bat first.
Pukhrambam Prafullomani did his bit with a decent 40 while Bish-worjit Nongmaithem contributed 21 and Borish Khomdram was unbeaten on 10.TRAU then produced a disciplined bowling attack to defend their total.
Good spells from Bijenkumar Nongmaithem, Amritakaran Yumnam and Anand Naorem dismissed REYS for 117 in 28.3 overs.
Bijenkumar finished with a four-wicket haul, Amritakaran picked up three wickets and Anand took two, with Priyojit Kangabam accounting for one.
For REYS, Mintu Chandra (28), Kiran Laishram (27) and Yungkham Romario Roy (21) were notable run-getters in their futile run chase.
Earlier, Alfred Hmar was the pick of REYS' bowlers with four scalps as Kiran Laishram snapped two wickets and Yungkham Romario took one.
Courtesy of their fourth straight win, TRAU are well placed at the top of Group A table with eight points.
With 87 runs and one wicket, Priyojit Kangabam earned the man-of-the-match trophy.
