Wabagai locality becomes Covid free

Although Wabagai Awang Leikai witnessed high number of Covid-19 positive cases during the initial stage of Covid-19 second wave, the locality has successfully tamed the pandemic with no Covid positive cases reported for a long time.
Speaking to media persons, Wabagai Awang Leikai Youth Development Association (WALYDA) secretary Mayengbam Ratankumar informed that six people were found to be infected by Covid-19 in the first wave.
Unfortunately, there was massive surge of Covid-19 cases in the locality with 120 people infected in the second wave, he continued, while adding that 254 people of the locality have been administered Covid vaccine till date.
After the CHIC set up at Wabagai High School was fully occupied by Covid patients, WALYDA and Covid Task Force established another CHIC at Wabagai Awang Leikai Primary School on June 17, Ratankumar recalled, while informing that 171 Covid positive patients including people from other areas had stayed at the centre.
However, there is no Covid patient at the centre since July 24.If Wabagai High School CHIC is fully occupied then the positive patients could stay at Wabagai Awang Leikai Primary School CHIC.
WALYDA and Covid Task Force of the locality are prepared to extend all possible help, he assured.
