Imphal, August 08 2021:
Thangmeiband Constituency MLA Kh Joykisan has categorically stated that there are no instances of Congress luring politicians with money to join the party fold.
The MLA also said that he didn't receive any money from Congress when he joined the party.
In a video message, Joykisan said that the article written by one Yambem Laba, accusing him and the CLP leader of malfeasance is baseless.
Saying that he remained silent to avoid stooping to his standard, Joykisan continued that the columnist seems to write anything he fancies and level unfounded allegations against people he dislikes.
Continuing that he neither gave nor received any money when joining Congress, Joykisan clarified that there are no cases of CLP leaders bribing politicians.
"I've heard rumours that my house is being kept on mortgage at Rs 8 crore," the MLA lamented and challenged that he will resign as an MLA if anyone can prove the rumour true.
Responding to the accusation that NFSA rice is being distributed to only well off families in Thangmeiband AC, the MLA claimed that rice is distributed to beneficiaries of Thangmeiband openly.
On another charge that subsidised rice for July have not been distributed to people of the Constituency, Joykisan advised the Thangmeiband BJP Mandal to approach the ruling Government to know the truth.
