"Congress has miserably failed"

Imphal, February 28 2017: BJP president Sh Amit Shah today said that the Congress Government of Manipur has failed to bring development in the State.

Addressing at a press conference here in Imphal, Amit Shah said, "BJP has been campaigning amongst the people and bringing to light the failures of the Congress party.

The people of Manipur are frustrated with 15 years of Congress rule and a wave of change is apparent.

BJP will surely form the Government with full majority in the State" .

Taking a jibe at Chief Minister Ibobi Singh, Shah said, "The CM has the tag of Mr 10% for the commission he charges.

BJP leaders, on the other hand, are known for the 10% growth rate in their States." Amit Shah explained, "The Chief Minister is known for recruitment scams, lack of drinking water, bad roads and a total failure in maintaining law and order.

This Government is known for only bandhs, blockades and fake encounters" .

Talking about the importance of PM Narendra Modi's vision for the North East, Shah said, "Modi ji has focused on the North East region as an area of priority since he took office.

Several schemes have been taken up by the BJP for the development of Manipur including sanctioning Rs 22,000 crore for improving roads and construction of railway lines" .

Shah said, "No development work has happened in Manipur and none of the promises made in 2012 have been fulfilled." He further said, "Congress manifesto this year has the same promises as those in 2012 because none of them have been fulfilled.

The Congress also makes promises that fall within the jurisdiction of the Central Government and claims credit for work done by the Centre" .

Amit Shah said, "BJP will free Manipur from bandhs and blockades.

The Prime Minister has already stressed our commitment to protect the territorial integrity of Manipur.

BJP will always protect and respect the Manipuri culture, land and people" .

BJP president said, "I am sure people of Manipur will show their strength at the ballot box and usher in BJP Government in Manipur" .
