Jyotin unfazed by defeat

Unfazed by the recent defeat at the hands of BJP candidate Kh Joykishan, Jyotin Waikhom has decided to fight for the Thangmeiband seat once again on Congress ticket in the 11th Manipur Legislative Assembly election which is due in 2017.Supporters and well-wishers of Jyotin Waikhom held a meeting at his residence today and reviewed the possible factors which led to the poll debacle.
Although Jyotin Waikhom has been contesting the Assembly election since 2007 unsuccessfully, he received fair shares of votes.
He got around 6000 and 7000 votes in the previous two elections and more than 10,000 votes in the recent by-election.
More than 1000 supporters of Jyotin Waikhom belonging to different localities of Thangmeiband AC attended the review meeting and they pepped up Jyotin to contest the next Assembly election on a Congress ticket in the same Assembly segment.
Overwhelmed by the love and support shown by his supporters and well-wishers, Jyotin declared that he would contest the next Assembly election.
He also appealed to all the voters who voted for him in the by-election not to switch sides in the meantime.
He further pledged that he would continue working for the welfare of public relentlessly.
