Imphal, November 29 2015:
All Manipur Unemployed Veterinary Doctors' Association (AMUVDA) has appealed State Government to recruit veterinary officers against the existing vacant posts at the earliest.
Regular recruitment to the vacant posts of veterinary officers in the Veterinary Department have not been carried out since 1998, AMUVDA president Th Chaoba Devi told the media at a press meet today.
It is reliably learnt that about 50 posts are lying vacant in the Veterinary Department but the State Government has not called for recruitment of veterinary doctors to fill the vacant posts, he said.
A memorandum in this respect was submitted to the State Government on May 7, 2011 and resubmitted on April 21 this year by the association.
With no positive response from the State Government, the association moved the Court in June 2015.The Court which ruled in favour of the association had directed the Veterinary Department to recruit veterinary doctors against the posts lying vacant in the Department on September 16 .
The association submitted a written appeal along with the Court's order to the Principal Secretary, Veterinary Department on September 21.However no immediate steps have been taken till date.
The association has therefore demanded State Government to recruit veterinary officers against the existing vacant posts on regular basis through MPSC at
the earliest.
