DC Senapati inaugurates the first ever District Level Literary Meet

Kangpokpi, November 04 2014: The first ever District Level Literary Meet in Senapati District has been inaugurated by Jacintha Lazarus, IAS, Deputy Commissioner Senapati today at the Multi-Purpose Hall, Senapati in the presence of Addl.

DC Kangpokpi, Chief Executive Officer, Senapati and all SDO/SDC within Senapati district including other department officer.

Under the theme "Unity in Diversity", the Literary Meet has been organized by the Deputy Commissioner who is also the Chairperson of District Board of Education in collaboration with Senapati District Students' Association and Kuki Students' Organization Sadar Hills under the scheme of Sarva Shiksha Abhiyan (SSA) .

"The intention of the programme was to bring together all the students of the district and compete and show their talents and nurture the talents of the students", asserted the IAS officer while adding that understanding the hardship and economical situation of the people of the district the programme covers the expenses of all the students in lodging and fooding with the reimbursement of travel and dearness allowances of the students.

Well-known and highly applauded for her well administration in Churachandpur district the lady IAS Officer said, "I am very impressed with the talents and performance of the students", adding that based on the performance of the students sponsorship in the varied fields might be looked into to nurture the talents of the students.

The District Level literary meet was finally held after participants were screened in a block level competition which was previously organized at respective six Blocks of Senapati District in the month of October.

Various competitions including painting, singing, recitation, extempore speech, quiz, fancy dress, elocution, dance, skit and choreography were held at the meet by categorizing into three sub groups of Sub-Junior, Junior and Senior levels based on the standards of the students.

Bringing together all the private schools and Government aided schools of both the ADC and ZEO of the district the literary meet has been reportedly participate by more than 600 students from various educational institutions within the district.

The valedictory cum prize distribution of the meet will be held tomorrow at the same avenue in the presence various distinguished dignitaries said the Deputy Commissioner.

Barun Mitra, IAS, Principal Secretary, Finance/Planning & Secretary to CM will grace the Valedictory cum Prize Distribution function as Chief Guest while H.Deleep Singh, IAS, Secretary, Education(S) & State Mission Director (SSA) and C.Arthur W, IAS, Director, Education (U) & Chairman COHSEM will attend the function as Functional president and Guest of Honour respectively.

M.L.Markson, President, Naga People's Organization and Seimang Khongsai, President, Kuki Inpi Sadar Hills will attend the Literary Meet Valedictory cum Prize Distribution Function as Special Guest.

In the meantime, KSO Sadar Hills supremo Thangminlen Kipgen lauded the Dy.

Commissioner for her initiative in organizing such vital meet which anticipated to extract the wide-ranging talents in the district.
