Govt to evict unauthorised occupants

The state government has issued directive for initiating action against illegal/ unauthorised occupiers at government quarters, guest houses and buildings which were allotted to government employees.
An office memorandum issued recently in this regard by the works department said that committees have been formed to verify illegal illegal/unauthorised occupants of government quarters, guest houses and buildings.
As per the office memorandum, government quarters/accommodations in Imphal area and district headquarters allotted to government employees are found to be illegally occupied or sub-let to non-employees thereby depriving quarter facility to genuine government employees.
Accordingly, step is being initiated to verify illegal/un-authorised occupants and register FIR against anyone found occupying government quarter/accommodation illegally.
Disciplinary action would also be initiated against government employees found sub-letting quarters/accommodations allotted to them, the notification cautioned along with stating that any government employee found sub-letting quarters/accommodations will not be allotted quarters ever again.
With the issuance of the office memorandum, different committees for verification of government quarters/accommodations have been formed and a team led by EE (BD-II) works department will verify quarters at Babupara, Sanjenthong, Majorkhul and DM campus.
Government quarters/accommodations at Lamphelpat and National Games Village will be verified by two different teams led by EE (BD-II) works department.
These teams will include representatives of Imphal West DC not below the rank of revenue inspectors and representatives of SP Imphal West not below the rank of sub-inspector.
Verification of government accommodations in district headquarters will be done by committees led by DC concerned with SPs, SDOs and EEs of works department of the districts concerned.
Verification works should be completed within one week and report of the same submitted within two weeks, the office memorandum said, adding that unauthorised occupiers should be evicted and necessary action initiated against them.
