Man nabbed with 1487gm Opium

Imphal, January 30 2022:
A combined team of Bishnupur district police commando and Loktak' PS nabbed a man and recovered 1487gm Opium from his possession on Saturday.
The nabbed man has been identified as Angom Ingocha (37) son of late Mangi of Leimatak Thingphai village.
The combined police team recovered five packets of Opium weighing around 1487gm from his possession.
According to a police source, a combined team of Bishnupur district police commando led by havildar Nungshithoi and Loktak PS led by havildar Md Burhamuddin conducted frisking along Leimatak Road upon gettirig specific input about movement of drug smuggler along' the road.
During the frisking, the combined team nabbed Ingocha from near Lamdan village and recovered five different packets containing 1487gm of Opium from a bag he was carrying.
The combined team then handed over Ingocha along with the recovered Opium to Lqktak PS for further necessary action.
On the other hand, a eombinedteam of NAB and Bishnupur district police destroyed poppy plants found growing in Dampi reserved forest area of the district.
