U-16 boys cricket: PTRC upstage TRAU as YPHU edge past PTCC

Imphal, January 30 2022:
PTRC notched up a comprehensive 136-run win over TRAU as YPHU beat PTCC by a wicket in Sunday's action of the 3rd MNCA U-16 Boys Naorem Rajningthou Memorial Trophy at ABA Ground, Kshetrigao.
Electing to bat, PTRC made 170 for 6 in 30 overs and then bundled out TRAU for a mere 34 in 19.1 overs.
L Naorem (32), Tamarland (30), Stoneson (24) and Nongdamba (22) were key contributors, in PTRC's innings.
The team then produced a fine bowling display to make short work of TRAU's batting lineup.
Stoneson, who scored 24, followed up with a four-wicket haul as Laitonjam James snapped three wickets, Malangba took two and Tamarland chipped in with one to steer their side to a thumping victory.
In the other match, YPHU struggled past PTCC by one wicket.
Put in to bat, PTCC were bowled out for 124 in 29.2 overs with Tanishq hitting 27 .
In their innings, three of PTCC's wickets fell prey to Bishworaj, two each to Abdul Kail and Prince Kumar, and one to Birbal.
In reply, YPHU toiled through 30 overs to score 126 for 9 and seal the win.
Birbal led the chase collecting 45 of 72 balls.
For PTCC, Hinas claimed three wickets, Nikhil and Karnajit took two each and Gunggung got one in a losing cause.
