Saikul felicitates ASFA/DFA on being affiliated to AMFA

People of Saikul held a grand felicitation of All Saikul Football Association (ASFA)/ District Football Association Saikul on being affiliated to the All Manipur Football Association (AMFA) at Saikul block ground on Saturday.
The felicitation ceremony organized by Saikul United Veteran (SUV) was graced by AMFA president M Ratankumar Singh as chief guest while AMFA general secretary L Jyotirmoy Roy and Kuki Inpi Saikul Gamkai president Seimang Lupho attended as guest of honour and functional president respectively.
Saikul United Veteran president, Kamcha Chongloi invoked the welcome address with presentation to the guests and dignitaries after invocation prayer by Neinu Lupheng, president Kuki Women Union Saikul.

In his keynote address, Thangkam Lupheng, former ADC Sadar Hills Member and advisor to the SUV said that the main objective for affiliation of ASFA/DFA Saikul to AMFA is to create a proper platform for talented young footballers in Saikul area which has produced many famous National and international footballers so far.
While appreciating the AMFA executives for giving recognition to Saikul as a separate football entity, he also said that the step will go a long way in the promotion, upliftment and development of football in Saikul area and in the State as well.
Addressing the gathering, AMFA president, M Ratankumar Singh said that football being the most popular and beautiful game, has no room for racial and religious discrimination and lauded the efforts of Saikul youth leaders for their enthusiastic and interesting activities in the field of football.
"Football is a game used by UN bodies for promotion of peace even in war-torn countries through FIFA, where youngsters can have a constructive role for peace and harmony through football", asserted the AMFA president.
He also urged the ASFA executives to nurture the newly affiliated football body for the welfare of the Saikul area, especially the youngsters.
Kuki Inpi Saikul Gamkai president, Seimang Lupho meanwhile conveyed heartfelt gratitude to the Saikul United Veteran leaders for fulfilling the long cherish dream of Saikul people in the field of football while expressing sincere thanks to the AMFA president and executives for acceding recognition and affiliation to Saikul as a separate football body.
Pastor L Bouylen of Baptist Church Saikul invoked the Blessing prayer for the affiliation and newly elected executives of ASFA/DFA Saikul during the program.
A simultaneous program of football and women volleyball final matches of Lhungtin Block Sports Meet was also held as a part of the felicitation program where Jaangnoi Youth Club defeated Somphung Youth Club in women's volleyball and Tusam Youth Club beat Naphai Youth Club via tiebreaker in the football final after 1-1 draw during the normal time.
The program ended with the distribution of prizes to the champions and runner-up teams.
