Saikul celebrates affiliation of ASFA/DFA Saikul to AMFA

People of Saikul celebrated affiliation of All Saikul Football Association (ASFA) /District Football Association Saikul to All Manipur Football Association (AMFA) in a grand function held at Saikul block ground on Saturday.
The event organised by Saikul United Veteran (SUV) was graced by AMFA President M Ratankumar Singh as chief guest while AMFA general secretary L Jyotrimoy Roy and Kuki Inpi Saikul Gamkai president Seimang Lupho attended the function as guest of honour and functional president respectively.
Saikul United Veteran President, Kamcha Chongloi delivered the welcome address with presentation of gifts to guests and dignitaries after invocation prayer by Neinu Lupheng, president Kuki Women Union Saikul.
In his keynote address, Thangkam Lupheng, former ADC Sadar Hills member and advisor SUV, gave an account of how All Saikul Football Association/DFA Saikul got affiliated to AMFA, while adding that the main objective of ASFA/DFA Saikul is to create a proper platform for talented young footballers in Saikul area, which has produced many famous footballers of national and international stature.
While appreciating the AMFA executives for giving recognition to Saikul as a separate football entity, he also said that this will go along way in promotion and development of football in Saikul area and in the state as well.
Addressing the gathering, AMFA president M Ratankumar Singh said that football being the most popular and beautiful game has no room for racial and religious discrimination and lauded the efforts of Saikul youth leaders for their enthusiasm in football.
He then said that affiliation of ASFA/DFA Saikul is for promotion and development of football in talent-studded Saikul area and urged the ASFA executives to nurture well the newly affiliated football body for the welfare of Saikul area, especially the youngsters.
Kuki Inpi Saikul Gamkai president Seimang Lupho conveyed heartfelt gratitude to the Saikul United Veteran leaders for fulfilling the long cherished dream of Saikul people in the field of football and thanked the AMFA president and executives for recognising Saikul as a separate football body.
Pastor L Bouylen of Baptist Church Saikul said the blessing prayer for the affiliation and newly elected executives of ASFA/DFA Saikul during the programme.
AMFA's memorandum signed by its general secretary L lyotrimoy Roy stated that the executive council of All Manipur Football Association decided in its meeting held on January 14 to accede provisional affiliation for All Saikul Football Association as District Football Association of Saikul.
A football and women volleyball final matches of Lhungtin Block Sports Meet were also held as part of the felicitation programme where Jaangnoi Youth Club defeated Somphung Youth Club in women's volleyball, while in football, Tusam Youth Club downed Naphai Youth Club via tie-breaker after the match ended in a 1-1 draw.
The event ended with distribution of prizes to the champions and runner-up teams.
