DC inaugurates District Project Management Unit

Tamenglong, July 15 2022: Tamenglong deputy commissioner Pawan Yadav on Friday inaugurated District Project Management Unit (DPMU) of NIPUN BHARAT (FLN) cell, a National Mission on Foundational Literacy and Numeracy, at the office of District Project Office/ZEO Tamenglong under the Samagra Shiksha programme.

The inaugural function was attended by ZEO N Abonpou Christopher and Samagra Shiksha DPM Satyajit Elangbam along with staff, teachers of ZEO Tamenglong and lecturers from DIET centre, Tamenglong.

Speaking at the event, Pawan Yadav stressed on the importance of NIPUN BHARAT which aims to ensure every child in the age group of 3 to 9 years mandatory attain foundational literacy and numeracy by the end of 2026-27.He also advised the staff and officials of education department to work harder and sincerely at the grassroots level for overall development of the education sector in the district.

According to DPM Satyajit Elangbam, the DPMU will be a centre for sharing knowledge, database management centre and a unit for overall management of NIPUN BHARAT (FLN) programme in Tamenglong district.

The DPMU is equipped with a meeting room with wi-fi facility, a smart TV for audio visual interaction, a desktop with printer which will enable all stakeholders to execute the programme in the best possible way", he said.
