SFs rescue teen, kids; escort LPG to Ccpur

A 19-year-old girl, Kimnehoi, resident of Sadu Chiru village along with seven children aged between three to fourteen years were stranded in Lamka in Churachandpur district since May 3 when the violence erupted in most of the districts.
In a release, PRO IGAR (S, informed that for eight dap.
she singlehandedly held out with limited ration at her disposal in the hope that situation would be improve and they could go home safely.
When her supplies ran out and was left with very little to feed the wards, she realised that something more had to be done to ex-tricate herself and the chil-dren from the predicament they were in.
Fortunately, mobile services were func-tional and she was able to communicate her plight to the relatives at Sadu Chiru.
The village chief immedi-ately went to the security forces that had arrived in the village on May 5 to maintain peace and har-mony.
The SFs immediately organised a rescue mission to Lamka and brought them back to their loved ones in Sadu Chiru, it added.
The release continued that it was especially emo-tional for Kimnehoi because the flourishing village she had left on May 2 was now a smouldering ruin destroyed by a rioting mob.
Yet, she was relieved that they were back at home hale and hearty to their village, it further conveyed.
Meanwhile, Assam Rifles arranged collection of 1836 cylinders from Sekmai Bottling Plant, Imphal West district and delivered them to Indane Gas Agency dis-tributor at Churachandpur.
In a release, PRO IGAR (S) said security forces provid-ed administrative assistance for movement, collection and distribution of LPG cylinders.
