Imphal, May 16 2023:
Federation of Civil Society Organisations (FOCS) Manipur has appealed to mar-ket vendors to cease business activities from 11:30 am to 12 noon on Wednesday as a mark of protest against alleged support by the government of India to the Kuki militant groups bound by So0 agree-ment and against the attitude of the central forces deployed in the state.
In a release, FOCS urged all vendors to briefly suspend business transaction and shout slogans "The territorial in-tegrity of Manipur cannot be destroyed", "There can be no separate administrations in Manipur", "Migrants cannot be the owner of the land", "Actions should be taken up against the Kuki UG groups under So0" and "Central para-military forces cannot remain silent while Kuki mil-itants are looting the public along the highway".
The release also contend-ed that the 10 Kuki MLAs are scheming to disintegrate Manipur for fulfilling the long-cherished dream of im-migrant Kuki and challenge the indigenous people of the state.
It also urged clubs, or-ganisations and meira paibi groups to hold meeting and take resolutions which will prevent illegal immigrants from destroying the territorial integrity of Manipur.
