Moreh, May 16 2022:
Tribal Affairs & Hills minister Letpao Haokip inspected Moreh Government Higher Secondary School Monday and found huge staff shortage and deplorable condition of the road leading to the school.
However, the minister, who was inspecting the school as part of the state government's School Fagat-hansi Mission was pleased over witnessing infrastructures of the school, which he claimed were better than those of private schools.
Letpao Haokip also interacted with school principal and teachers during which some teachers complained about staff shortage.
One teacher informed the minister that some teachers posted to the school by the government were found utilised in other places before joining the school and huge shortage of teachers is one main reason for decline in enrolment of students at the school though the school has enough infra structure.
The teacher also informed the minister that the road leading to the school remained unattended for more than 10 years and students and teachers face immense difficulty in reaching the school through the muddy road.
Many ministers/MLAs and department concerned had inspected the road but nothing materialised till date, the teacher informed and urged the minister to develop the road at the earliest in the interest of students and teachers.
After hearing complaints of the teachers, minister Letpao Haokip assured of taking up necessary action at the earliest.
He also said that steps would be initiated to prevent utilisation of teachers transferred to the school at other places.
