Left Coordination Committee Manipur to launch protest from May 25

Left Coordination Committee, Manipur will launch a state-wide protest from May 25 to May 31 against the government's lack of initiative to solve the problems of price hike and unemployment.
As per a statement issued by L Sotinkumar, chairman, Left Coordination Committee, Manipur, a meeting was held on May 13 at CPI (M) Office in New Delhi where left parties discussed the socio economic situation of the country.
During the course of this meeting, the gathering decried Prime Minister Narendra Modi's economic policies and resolved to launch an agitation from May 25 to 31 .
The statement said that the increase in price of fuel has resulted in the price hike of other essential commodities such as cooking oil, lentils, vegetables and so on.
This in turn has made life extremely difficult for common citizens of the nation.
The statement also expressed discontent with the government's lack of action in this matter despite the obvious plight of the people.
Some other demands of the protest include to reduce the taxes levied on petroleum products, to ensure that essential food items are made available through PDS at a cheap price, fill up job vacancies etc, the statement added.
