HERICOUN celebrates 20th foundation day

The 20th foundation day celebration of Ethno Heritage Council (HERICOUN) was held at Wangkhei Angom Leikai Community Hall today.
The foundation day celebration was graced by Professor P Gunindro Singh, Vice-Chancellor of Manipur University of Culture, RK Tharaksana, president of WASDEV, Mutum Churamani, president of LOUSAL and Longjam Ratankumar, president of HERICOUN as the presidium members.
As a part of the celebration, HERICOUN presented 'Tomthin Khudol-2022' award to renowned film director Romi Meitei was given a shawl along with a citation.
Addressing the gathering, Longjam Ratankumar while extending best wishes to the people on the occasion of its 20th foundation day of HERICOUN said that it has been striving earnestly to resolve the ethnic community conflicts in the State which have emerged as a result of different political demands raised by the different ethnic communities.
Stating that HERICOUN was formed after the formation of Coordinating Committee on Manipur Integrity (COCOMI) and has been demanding the Indian Government to grant Special Political Status Autonomy to Manipur to help in resolving the various conflicts in the State.
He went on to inform that regarding its objective, HERICOUN has been planning to form a working committee and a consultative meeting will be held on May 21 for the formation of the committee.
